ķirši ar drupačām // cherry crumble

One thing I absolutely love about summer is the endless range of fresh fruits and vegetables that in most cases are locally grown or at least come from the same region. And cherries have to be my most coveted fruits of the season. No strawberry or plum can compete with a cherry! When the cherry season comes to an end and it is hard to find a really good batch, I start to add them to desserts. I find that baked goods bring the cherry flavor out the most, so it's a no brainer for me to add them to tarts, biscuits and pies. Today I'm sharing a simple recipe that requires no more than 15 minutes of hands on work and delivers a juicy, warming and flavorsome desert.

Lets catch the cherry season by the tail! What is your favorite cherry dessert?

To make 4 cherry crumbles you need:
around 2 handfuls of your favorite cherries, pitted
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp starch
40 gr brown sugar
30 gr butter, room temperature
50 gr flour

1. Preheat oven to 180C.
2. Mix cherries, sugar and starch. Divide them between 4 ramekins.
3. Mix sugar and butter, then mix in flour. Divide the crumble and coat the 4 cherry ramekins.
4. Put in to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, until the crumble is browned and cherries bubbling.
4. Serve with ice cream, cherries and browned almonds.
